Pakistan kyu nahi aa rahe aap? Fans question India’s Suryakumar Yadav in SA

India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav was recently questioned by a Pakistan fan in South Africa about their nation’s reluctance to travel to the neighbouring country. Notably, Surykumar is currently leading the T20I team in Souht Africa in a four-match series and met a couple of Pakistan fans during his outing with teammate Rinku Singh.
A video of the incident has been going viral on social media where Suryakumar and Rinku can be seen posing for a photograph with a couple of fans. Later ahead in the video, the India T20I skipper asks the fan if he’s returning back to his country after the match and the fan confirms. However, the fan goes on to ask a question to the India star that why don’t they come to Pakistan to play.
“Aap Pakistan kyun nahi aate (Why don’t you come to Pakistan,” the fan could be heard saying in the video. Listening to the question, the Indian batting stalwart smiled and replied “Arey bhaiya! Humare haath me thodi hai (Hey borther, it’s not in our hands),” said Suryakumar in the video.

Notably, the discussions of uncordial relations between India and Pakistan are once again on the rise due to India’s reluctance to travel to Pakistan for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The ICC (International Cricket Council) and PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) were supposed to announce the schedule of the event on November 11. However, after the ICC informed the PCB about India’s stance, the schedule unveiling has been postponed.
The two nations don’t hold bilateral cricketing relations since 2013 when Pakistan visited India for an ODI and T20I series in 2012-13. The political relations between the two neighbours have been in turmoil since the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack in 2008.
Hence, after India’s reluctance to travel to Pakistan, the PCB are left with only one solution i.e hosting India’s matches outside of Pakistan by a adopting a hybrid model. However, the PCB has been quite adamant on hosting the tournament entirely in their country. The PCB is yet to respond to India’s stance as the preparations for the mega event look haywire with just over three months from the start of the tournament.
